Volume 2, Part II of the 24th Annual Report of the State of New York's Dept.of Agriculture, "the 5th in the plan of the NY Agricultural Experiment Station to make a more or less complete record of all the different fruits grown in the region." Contents include an account of the history and uses of the peach; botanical characters of the species of cultivated peaches; statistics of peach-regions and peach-growing in NY; and the synonymy, bibliography, economic status, and full descriptions of all the most important cultivated peaches, with brief literature on those no longer grown. With stunning color plates, a few facsimiles of statistics, and a map or two. Hedrick was a NY state horticulturist. The Zeese-Wilkinson Company provided the color plates, but the artist's name is not mentioned.
