Published to accompany the exhibition at the Hermitage Rooms, Somerset House. Nearly all the works are from the historic collection of the famous Lomonosov Porcelain Factory (formerly the Imperial Porcelain Factory). The works included are from the post-Revolutionary period, 1918 to the 1930s, including designs by the Suprematists, Kandinsky and others, whose task was "to celebrate the achievements of the new regime and exhort the Soviet citizen to ever greater heights of endeavour and industry." The catalogue and exhibition both are/were dedicated to the memory of the author, who died suddenly just before the catalogue was completed. A beautiful, informative catalogue with amazing, colorful and stunning porcelain.
