The untold story of Albert Henry Stopford, a member of the aristocracy, who was welcomed in all the best salons of Europe and counted Russian nobility and members of the Ballet Russes among his closest friends. Stopford dealt in both Faberge and Cartier, dined regularly with the Romanovs and was friends with two of Rasputin's accused murderers. During the revolution, Stopford risked his life to rescue Romanov jewels, "destined to adorn the rich and famous for years to come." (Paraphrased from the back cover).
