The set is comprised of: Hardcover Book - Dutch blue cloth/boards with white lettering; 136 pp. with bw illustrations; errata sheet laid in; approx. 10x14 in. Small Loose Plates - 104 color and duotone small plates (approx. 14x10), housed in two grey card folders. List of Plates: a folded 10x14 thick paper with the list of the 104 plates, numbered from 1b to 54b (with variations), also housed in one of the folders with the plates (as is the hardcover book). Large Loose Plates: 6 large, loose color plates, housed in a matching grey card folder, 21x15 inches. Hardcover Folio: Boards covered in Dutch blue cloth; edges covered in grey cloth; flaps covered in deckled grey paper. With ribbon ties at closure. Oversize/Heavy and will require extra postage. ALL parts are NF, except for: two small spots on the inside of the main folio and a tear at the side fold of one of the grey folders. Otherwise, everything is secure and in beautiful condition. Hercules Segers: The Complete Etchings by E. Haverkamp Begemann with an Introduction by K.G. Boon and a Supplement, Johannes Ruischer, by E. Trautscholdt is the complete title. A section at the back of the hardcover book features a catalogue of works by Johannes Ruischer (alias Jonge Hercules - Young Hercules), by Eduard Trautscholdt. This section is in German text. The remainder of the set is in English. With an introduction by Boon, followed by sections: The Artist's Life: Truth and Legend, which includes a chronology of both timeline and narrative; The Artist's Prints, by subject (Religious, Rocky Mountains, Woods and Trees, Distant Views I, Distant Views II, Castles and Ruins, Still Life, etc.); Techniques and Working Methods (Plates, supports, colour, impressions, sources, The Individuality of Seger's Methods), a Chronology, and Influence and Parallels; Catalogue of the prints, with information about prints wrongly attributed to Segers. Also included are concordances, a summary and a list of text illustrations. The separate plates themselves each is numbered and titled and names the location of the original (museum).
