NY: Russell F. Whitehead, 1915. Hardcover. Five volumes bound in sturdy green ibrary cloth with hand-lettered spine labels. Fair sold as a reading set only. Covers not bound in, some pages have pencil numbering in the corners, most volumes are very loose, with some pages also being loose. Would be much better with some attention from the binder. A Bound, exlibrary run of these most important publications. Each serial volume consists of 6 issues usually. Bound volume 1 contains the following: Vol. 1 (1915): 3 numbers (all issued). Vol. 2 (1916): 6 numbers. Vol. 3 (1917): 5 numbers (lacks No.4). Vol. 4 (1918): 4 issues (lacks 4 and 5). Vol 5 (1919): 5 issues (lacks No. 6). Vol. 6 (1920): 6 issues. Bound volume 2 contains the following: Vol. 7 (1921) 6 issues. Vol. 8 (1922): 6 issues. Vol. 9 (1923): 6 issues. Vol. 10 (1924): 6 issues. Vol. 11 (1925): 4 issues (lacks 2 and 4) covers begin to be bound into volumes with Vol.11, and the cover of each iisue states the number of that issue within the volume, as well as the whole number within the series. This creates some bibliographic issue, as it calls No.1 of Vol.11 the 59th monograph in the series. It seems as this number should be 58th, given that the first volume only had three numbers. Vol. 12 (1926): 5 issues, lacking No. 6. Third bound volume contains: Vol. 13 (1927): 6 issues. Vol. 14 (1928): 6 issues. Vol. 15 (1929): 6 issues. Fourth bound volume contains: Vol. 16 (1930): 6 issues. Fifth bound volume contains: Vol. 17 (1931): 6 issues. Vol. 18 (1932): numbers 5+6. Vol. 19 (1933): 6 monographs. Vol. 20 (1934): 5 issues, lacking No. 3. Vol. 21 (1935): 5 issues, lacking No. 1. Vol. 22 (1936): 6 issues. Vol. 23 (1937): 6 issues. Vol. 24 (1938): 6 issues. Vol. 25 (1939): 3 issues, Nos. 1,2 and 3 ending in June 1939. Beginning with Vol. 18, the monographs are presented in order, but their page numbering is indicative of missing pages. This is because these monographs appear tp have been removed from bound (or issued as off-prints from) issues of Pencil Points magazine. A total of 132 bound issues, out of a seeming possible 142 issues printed in the time period covered.
