Native son David Bachman Landis (1862-1940) extolls in many verses here the bucolic virtues of his homeland of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Since he was born in Landisville, his sights often turn to the Hempfields and to the western edge of Lancaster city. A marvelous volume with 35 vintage photographs of sites in the area as well. Should be an attractive addition to poetry lover and historians alike.
