Horizons

Boston, Massachusetts: Little, Brown and Company, 1932. Hardcover. Black and silver cloth over boards; 293 pp.; Profusely illustrated in bw. all edges black. Good (scuffs & scratches to covers; scoring to covers. spine top bumped, ends worn. corners curled & rubbed. black edges worn. front pastedown/hinge has ~5inch crack; back fully cracked, yet attached. pg edges tanned). Item #145125

Small, neatly written previous owners name to front pastedown. Pages 185 to 194 have light, coffee-like staining to upper corners. Pages have errant smudges or marks, but, appear to be free of marginalia/notations. Text block is firm. Front hinge is strong; back hinge, for its condition, is still held to spine by binding materials and attached. A wonderful, classic title featuring industrial design for a new age, in theaters, homes, restaurants, railways, and more. Great photographs. Unfortunately, a previous owner deemed the front-facing endpage, the title page, and the table of contents suitable places for his or her doodlings. It lends a certain charm, but thankfully, the rest of the pages are clean.
