Catalogue from the auction of the Allard Collection, held March 1978 in Scottsdale, Arizone. The collection numbered 1,000 items from (nearly) all nations and tribes: Apache, Cheyenne, Comanche, Osage, Navajo, Southern Plains, Pima, Central Plains, Hopi, Blackfoot, Yurok, Zuni, Sioux, Cherokee, Nez Perce, Winnebago, Salish, Eskimo, etc., etc. Any kind of item imaginable - bows, arrows, wampum, pipes, baskets, newspapers, moccasins, baby carriers, pottery, textiles, cradle boards, jewelry, and much more. Also listed are pieces traded from outside the Indian culture: German silver bracelets, books, etc. No prices listed. Must have been an amazing auction!
