Text is in French. 13 volumes of the master work of art history compiled by French artist-writer Charles Paul Landon (1760-1826), begun in 1801 and said to eventually fill 33 vols. This incomplete set is missing volumes 1, 2, 3, 9, 10, and 11, and it runs to volume 19. Volume 19 begins what Landon calls the Seconde Collection. Volume 18 therefore ends the Premiere Collection and includes an index to all of the plates in the previous volumes. Still fun to peruse.
