A sale of 1,259 lots stamps from the Australian States & Australian Commonweath that come from the most important collection to appear on the market in more than 50 years. Assembled by Sir Gawaine Baillie, 7th Bt (1934-2003), the collection was almost entirely unknown to international collectors and boasts highlights not seen on the market for several decades. The sale was the third in a series of ten auctions, with an estimated value for the entire collection of $20 million. Has a personal remembrance by Tommy Sopwith, and foreword by Richard Ashton.
