Item #136868

A massive compendium put together during the late 1920s and early 1930s, when Colonial Portraiture was in vogue and extremely popular among collectorsa. A mighty index is found at the rear of the book, and portraits by no less than 28 individual artists are listed, along with supporting data and research. Includes sheet of corrections between the list of portraits and the Author's Preface. Scarce and quite useful for information on these artists and portraitists beyond the pictures only of Washington.
