Evidently a classic work by one-time English poet-laureate Colley Cibber (1671-1757). Note that this is just volume 1 of a two-volume set. Contents of this one are said to be: "With an Account of the Rife and Progress of the English Stage: A Dialogue on Old Plays, and Old Players: and a List of Dramatic Authors and their Works." (tp) Get your mind tooled to read those old interior Ss correctly. Yes, they look like Fs at first glance.
