This is a seminal collection that was for many years on display at the Brooklyn Museum after Mr. Paterson's death. He had lived in Lenox, Massachusetts and the items filled his large home there previously. The annotations for the items in the catalogue are most useful, and detailed. The provenance of these items includes some of the most famous names in Chinese Artifacts. Names like Thomas Waggaman, Yamanaka, Garret Pier, R.E. Moore, Sir William Bennett, Henry Graves, Robert Hoe, etc.
