Collection Julien Greau: Verrerie antique émaillerie et poterie appartenant a M. John Pierpont Morgan. Recueil des planches.

Paris: G. Massias del / Imp Lemercier & Cie, circa 1903. Softbound. Not bound. Plain letterpress folio cover or section title plus hand tinted plates 1-75. Oversize. VG- (Edgewear, soiling, and some small tears to paper cover. Includes an addtional plate, 38b, from a different printer. Likely due to a collating error, a second copy of plate 71 was included instead of plate 69. Plates are unmarked with occasional smudges or soiling from minimal handling. Plate 41 has some light foxing/spotting/sunning. Some minor soiling and wear to page edges. Otherwise a binding copy of this section). Item #134280

This appears to be the first set of plates from a rare title (edition of 90) which was originally issued in six parts--5 sections of plates and 1 section of text. The plates are elaborately colored by hand and feature glassware, enamels, and pottery collected by Julien Greau (1810–1895). The collection was purchased by J.P. Morgan, who was involved in the production of this catalogue, and who later donated the collection to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
