Oversize. Dual text in English and French. Good (ex-library. title page, frontispiece, and index are marked with perforation stamp. light spotting to occasional plates...seems to be pigment or aspect of the paper rather than foxing? vol 1: plates other than frontispiece are not marked by the library. has been moist and pages are slightly wavy, with a dampstain on right margin of pages, more visible at beginning and at end of book. plate 99 has a closed tear on right side and plate 150 is missing the top corner. small tear in cloth over spine. vol 2: plates are stamped on front lower corner with circular library ink stamp. dampstain in margin at the beginning and end of the book. bottom page corners have been bumped/dogeared, with loss of the corner on plates 207-222. other plates have smaller loss of corners or small tears. plates 180/181 and 224/225 reversed in binding. plate 107 is missing a large corner, which does affect edge of image surface).
