Gilet and son were both architects trained at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Toulouse and Paris and were students of Victor Laloux. This book surveys their work, which is characterized by the architectural vocabulary and ornamental style of art nouveau and art deco. Mainly based in Toulouse, they designed tenements, mansions, villas, municipal, commercial and administrative buildings, hospitals, schools, villages, sanatoriums and asylums. The book includes images of the Caisse d'Epargne, Hotel particulier de M. Brocqua, the Bancal builidng, and 18 bis, allée Frédéric Mistral in Toulouse, as well as the Ecole de Garcons, Boulogne-sur-Gesse, and other projects.
