Perhaps--just perhaps-- a copy of "Japanese design in cloth", published by JB Millet. The Meiji era book has a title page, but it is entirely in Japanese, while our ability to translate is limited. Each plate features a single textile design. Some portions of the patterns were printed, but other parts may have been hand painted.
