A Primer of Public Relations for the Pharmaceutical Industry

New York: American Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association, 1953. Hardbound. Brown cloth boards with black cloth spine and gold lettering, 90pp, 9 tri-tone illustrations. VG+. Item #126774

A book published mainly for members of the APMA (American Pharmaceutical Manufacturer's Association), this is a rather fascinating little book. It contains chapters on Publicity, News Releases, Cost of Drugs, Animal Experiments, Constructive Approach to Complaints, Community Relations (with special reference to air pollution and odor control), Plant Tours, Correspondence, Making the Annual Report Speak, and includes a bibliography on other PR books. Each chapter is written in a delightfully squeaky-clean 50's style, complete with vintage "clip-art" illustrations. Great find.
