With a foreword about the collection, in particular ethnologist Dr. Hans Himmelheber's work in collecting these as well as other works for the collections of major museums in the world. Includes additional preliminary text. The catalogue includes descriptions and prices for each item, and there is a brief introduction to each of the geograhpic areas or tribes whose art is represented. The gift bookplate inside the front cover names Mrs. Saidie A. May as the book's donor. Saidie Adler May (1879 - 1951) was an American collector of Surrealist and early Abstract Expressionist art and a major benefactor to The Baltimore Museum of Art, MoMA, and other museums. Very scarce.
