London: R. Faulder, 1794, 1799. Hardbound. Full red leather with gilt design around cover borders inside and out, five raised bands with elaborate gilt devices and tooling, all edges gilt. Marbled end papers. Personal bookplate, with coat-of-arms, of Luke, Lord Clonbrock on front end paper of each volume (Luke Gerald Dillon, 4th Baron Clonbrock, an Irish Peer, 1834-1917). Vol. 1: xvi, [2], 183 pp. 57 illustrations, some foldouts; Vol. 2: xix + 150pp, 49 illustrations. VG; a most handsome and fine set with virtually occasional foxing and some off-setting from strong impressions; small scratch to front cover of Volume II with light rubbing to front hinge area and to back cover. A large, leather edition of these two books, each measuring 9 1/2 x 12 3/4. A stunning set which will delight and impress, a pleasure to hold. Hard to imagine a nicer set.
