A POPULAR HISTORY OF ENGLAND from the Earliest Times to the Accession of Victoria (+) A POPULAR HISTORY OF ENGLAND from the Accession of Victoria 1837-1874

Boston, MA: Dana Estes and Charles Lauriat, 1875, circa. Hardbound. 3/4 leather with marbled paper covered boards and marbled page edges. Illustrated profusely. Five volumes, xix, 408; 448; 408; 458; 539 pp. VG. Item #123723

A fantastic set, in 3/4 calf leather with light wear, elaborate gilt design on spine with five raised bands, all edges marbled. A five volume set, the fifth volume having been published after the first four and containing an index to the whole set. A standard history, and this particular set appears very nicely and looks quite distinguished on the shelf. Lovely.
