Introduction by R.A.M. Stevenson, at that time the Director of the National Gallery, Ireland; Biographical and descriptive catalogue by J.L. Caw, at that time the Curator of TheNational Portrait Gallery of Scotland; Wonderful plates, extensively annotated; Oversized, heavy. Accompanying portfolio has 67 plates mounted on India Paper, of which at least one ispresent in duplicate. Some have written that this edition of 110 copies came with two portfolios of plates, one on India Paper and one on Japon. When I read the statement on the back of the title-page, it clearly states that there were 110 copies of a special edition printed, and that 80 of these had India Paper portfolios and 30 of them had Japon paper portfolios.
