Albany, NY: Erastus H. Pease & Co., 1847. Hardbound. Dark brown blindstamped cloth with gilt embossed spine design and title. xiv, [1], 498, [2], 12 pp. ads at rear. Color lithographed frontispiece, and color lithograph at page 425, folding map at the very front of the book, many figure drawings within the text. Good. Corners worn, small piece missing from upper part of spine (no loss to title), library sticker at base of spine and thin gold library numbers a wee bit further up above the sticker. A solid copy despite these considerations. Item #114869

This copy is most notable for the folding map of the "Country of The VI Nations" (printed in Albany apparently for this volume, copied from a manuscript map in the State Library originaly map in 1771). No other copies of this book mention this map.

Price: $400.00
