Clara Stroud (Notebook of information and pictures of her works)

1958, or after. Hardbound. Black three ring binder with ruled paper and attached articles and ephemera. OVERSIZE. VG. Item #114538

This notebook begins with a handwritten account of her name, address, place of birth, art training, exhibitions, awards and works owned by. Includes articles cut from the Sarasota Herald from Florida from 1941, 1937 and other dates; exhibition catalogues from Argent Galleries in NYC (1938), and various museum and art club exhibitions during the 1940s; profuse newspaper clippings from Florida and mostly New Jersey newspapers detailing her activies and exhibitions. The articles and ephemera end abruptly in 1958. This information would be the cornerstone for any worthwhile research to be done on this artist, who was well-known for her water colors of New Jersey, Florida and the tropics (apparently).
