Collection of Bernice Cross pamphlets

1942-1949. Softbound. VG. Item #114318

Bernice Cross appears to have been an American Folk Artists of the 1940s and 1950s. These three items include a cardstock announcement for a show at the Little Gallery in Washington, DC in 1942; a pamphlet for a 1949 exhibition at the Bertha Schaefer Gallery in NYC with an invitation written by the artist inside the front cover; A folded graphic announcement for a 1946 exhibition at the Whyte gallery in Washington, DC. Likely not much else on this artist is available. Information on the back of another catalogue I have of hers leads me to believe she may also have been a teacher of some sort, as they relate to tuitions for two different individuals in the Washington, DC area (written in her handwriting, matching the handwriting in the 1949 catalogue).
