Issued in conjunction with a 1981-1982 exhibition that considered the life and work of American photographer Paul Outerbridge (1896-1958). With an introductory illustrated essay by Bernard Barryte, Graham Howe, and Elaine Dines. Divides his work into sections: platinum and silver bromide prints from 1921-1932, drawings from 1934, carbo-color prints from 1935-1939, and supplementary photographs from 1921-1941. The six appendices include "The Carbro Process," by Outerbridge, as well as a chronology, selected bibliography, and exhibitions and collections histories. Highly illustrated. This catalogue accompanied the exhibition which toured six locations in the US and one in Germany but was originally hosted by the Laguna Beach Museum of Art.
