This is copy number 403 of a limited edition of 1000 copies. Exquisite. The Winchester Bibles were produced in Winchester, England. The most well-known is a Romanesque illuminated manuscript from the 12th century, still in the library at Winchester Cathedral. This volume details an attempt to determine how the two 12th-century Winchester Bibles were produced and how the undertaking was shared out among different individual artists. Beautiful color plates.
