London: Henry Sotheran & Co., 1881. Hardbound. Red gilt embossed publishers' cloth with elaborate gilt embossed design on covers, Top edges gilt. A reading copy only. All pages loose, binding beautiful, the whole contained in a red cloth clamshell box with gilt tile. Item #105489

The four-page Preface is signed and dated Liverpool, Christmas 1880. The gilt embossed design on the covers is especially nice. A rare title, but in awful shape. The condition is mostly due to the way these sheets were bound, rather than from extensive use.
