In this version of this title, the different Lectures are presented in order, with title pages for each lecture, but not like title pages for for separate books. They are more like chapter title pages. There were more than 4 lectures included in some versions of this publication. Lecture 1: The Realistic Schools, features the work of Rossetti and Hunt. Lecture 2 is on The Mythic School of Painting, and features Burne-Jones and Watts. Lecture 3 is on Classic Schools of Painting and features Leighton and Alma Tadema. Lecture 4 is on Fairy Land, and features Allingham and Greenaway. Two more lectures and an Appendix were issued the following year.
