Text is entitrely in Russian. Appears to be a re-publication, with updates, of this authors same-titled publication from 1947. A monumental text on Byzantine painting and mosaics with notes, bibliography, indices. Volume 2 has a 10-page index to the 5907 illustrations, and Volume 1 has reproduced the title page from the 1947 publication. A treasure and a mighty reference.
