This extensive and superb collection, which is now the property of the National Museum of Finland, was formed by the donations of two private collectors, who assembled their collections over a period of 40 years. It focuses on the golden era of Russian porcelain-making, the period from the establishment of the first Russian porcelain factory during the reign of Empress Elizabeth, until the reign of Alexander II, when the branch was industrialized. Strikingly colored statuettes and full-page, exquisite color plates of porcelain pieces and bowls give a hint to the depth and quality of this collection. Text is in Finnish and English. A wonderful and scholarly reference.
