The actual catalogue annotations, listings and introduction were prepared by Gerard Brett during his tenure as Assistant Keeper of the Department of Textiles. The textiles herein range from the 13th to the 19th centuries. This is Large Picture Book No. 4 from the museum's series of guide books for sale, published in 1949.
