Guatemala: Universidad de San Carlos / Carlos H. Ruiz, 1947. Softcover. Stapled paper wraps with black lettering. [28] with 22 bw portrait photos. VG but for age toning. Item #155503

Catalogue from the open-air exhibition of March - April 1947, presented by AGEAR (Guatemalan Association of Revolutionary Writers and Artists). The inauguration of the even was on March 29, hosted by poet Eloy Amado Herrera, with the Manifesto of 4 Liberties of Art, a lecture, choral mass (directed by Oscar Vargas Romero), and more. The catalogue itself presents narrative bios, bw photos, and the lists of works by each of the 22 Guatemalan artists whose works were on view in this first open-air show by AGEAR. A very important event. Scarce.
