The classic work on horsemanship and dressage by French riding master Antoine de Pluvinel (1552-1620), who taught King Louis XIII how to ride. Based on an edition published in 1626 by Gottfried Müller in Braunschweig, Germany. This facsimile was first published by J. A. Allen in 1969 without the English translation. Here we have the text in English, with an introduction by Hilda Nelson, and with reproductions of all of the intricate and fascinating illustrations first rendered by Crispijn van de Passe. An uncommon find, yet this one is not in pristine condition.
