VG- contents, clean and tight; a hint of age toning to page edges; covers lightly age-soiled, name in fountain pen ink at top right corner of front cover, spine age toned, light chipping to edges, and front cover beginning to tear at lower spine (tape repaired). Catalogue from the exhibition of November 20-24, 1894, at the National Academy of Design. Included are lists of all the committees and the patronesses; and the catalogue of the 650 works on view. The first section, portraits, is arranged in alphabetical order by artist's last name and includes the sitter's name, lender's name/s, and date (for some). Some big names (Anders Zorn, Thomas Sully, Gilbert Stuart, William Merritt Chase, "Miss" Cassatt, and a host of other artists. The second section, miniatures, is arranged in alphabetical order by lender's last name. The advertisements at rear are delightful and contemporary; a bit of 1890s advertising and cultural history. Scarce.
