"What is presented here ... is the result of tracing the roots and history of a Fraktur tradition going back to the Mennonites of West Prussia who had their roots in the Netherlands. The language and cultural background of these Mennonites was primarily Dutch. As early as the 16th century, many of the Dutch Mennonites of the various provinces of the Netherlands fled via the City of Danzig to a tributary of the Vistula (Weichsel) River where they soon became successful in draining the swamps and farming the acquired soil. ... This book constitutes another significant milestone in the field of Mennonite research and is an additional source of valuable information." (foreword) Scarce.
