Dissertation. The first study to focus on the landscapes of American genre painter Alvan Fisher, in order "to reassert his significance in the history of nineteenth-century American painting." (abstract) Quite detailed. Unfortunately, the illustrations didn't do well in the copying process. Still a comprehensive treatment of this artist. Adelson went on to join the faculty of the Department of Art at Rowen University; and he has contributed writings to The New York Times and other publications.
