Pazyryk is the German rug society, and these are the papers presented at their 1988 meeting (Volume I). Papers were presented by renowned rug experts Ahlheim, Bohmer, Bruhl & Doirfler, Buddeberg, Diehr, Ingrami, Jansen, Klose, Krausse, Kreutz, Kummerer, von Markov, Muller, Schienerl, Sindermann, Suriano, Tischer, Wackenrah and Wild. Most text is in German but the preface (Robert Pinner) and the essays by Suriano and Ingrami are in English. Rich, vivid color plates. George O'Bannon was a well-known rug collector, author and expert who began his interest in the subject while a Peace Corps member in Afghanistan.
